Annual Membership

The Annual Membership is the best deal for locals of the metro-Boston area and other frequent riders.

When you become a member for $129 per year, you'll get a key that unlocks thousands of bikes around Metro Boston. You can even ride the very same day you sign up by using the Bluebikes mobile app to unlock a bike.*

You can take as many rides as you want throughout the year, and the first 45 minutes of each ride are included in your membership. If you keep a bike out for longer than 45 minutes at a time, it's only an extra $2.50 per additional 30 minutes.

Your Annual Membership is good for 365 days. Bluebikes is open year-round, although some on-street stations are removed during the winter for snow removal.

Members Earn Bike Angels Points

Bike Angels are Bluebikes riders who improve the availability of bikes and docks for fellow riders and earn rewards along the way. Angels earn points for taking bikes from crowded stations and bringing them to empty ones or stations expected to soon become empty. Rack up the points by cycling from a full station to an empty station.

Other Membership Options

Bluebikes also offers Corporate Memberships on behalf of many local organizations, and the City of Boston has an income-eligible membership program for qualifying Boston residents.

*If you don't have a smartphone, you can request a ride code through a station kiosk before your key arrives. Insert the credit card associated with your account and follow the on-screen instructions (don't worry, you won't be charged). Once you have your 5-digit ride code, enter it into the keypad on the dock next to an available bike to unlock it.

Please Note: If you incur any usage fees while riding Bluebikes (e.g., if you keep your bike out for longer than 45 minutes at a time), your card on file will be charged. The fee for a lost or stolen bike is $1,200.
