Franklin Park

Named after Benjamin Franklin, Franklin Park is the largest park within the Emerald Necklace.

This park is comprised of 527-acres of partially-wooded parkland that reaches the neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and Dorchester in Boston.

Within the park, there is a 2.3-mile multi-use loop that winds around natural scenery, spectacular rock outcroppings, a woodland preserve, and recreational fields. The loop can be accessed from several points in the neighborhoods that the park borders and there are two Bluebikes stations right outside of the park where you can rent a bike:

  • Franklin Park Zoo - Franklin Park Rd at Blue Hill Ave

  • Seaver St at Humboldt Ave

Additional information on events and routes within the park can be found on the Franklin Park Coalition website.
