A little rain could not stop us from closing out Women's Bike Month with a bang. On the weekend of 10/27, we celebrated the women that bike in Metro Boston with a 2-part Bike and Brunch event.
Our Women's Bike Month event started with Brunch on Saturday, October 27th at Lucy's American Tavern in Dorchester. A little rain could not put a damper on the weekend festivities. There was food, fun giveaways, and many new friendships were formed.
With drier weather in the forecast, we geared up for our highly anticipated Women's Ride on Sunday, October 28th. The ride started and ended at the Bluebikes Mattapan T Stop station, where all the participants got an intro to Bluebikes 101.
From the station, we moved to the Neponset River Greenway for the group ride. We had two very special women helping to lead the ride - Michelle Cook (Roxbury) and Vivian Ortiz (Mattapan) - who are also strong public figures in their respective communities
As the first time on the path for many of the riders, it was the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely ride. With breath-taking views of the Neponset River and fall foliage, it was the perfect setting to our Women's Bike Month closing weekend.
