Bluebikes Winter Challenge

Starting February 1st, all month long -- anyone who rides with Bluebikes is eligible to receive special prizes. Get ready to warm up during the colder months, and prepare to roll to the top of the Winter Challenge.

​Winter Challenge Rider Meetup​

At the end of the challenge, we'll be hosting a Winter Challenge Rider Meetup. Anyone who rides at least once in February during the challenge, will be invited to attend. You'll also be able to pick up your hard-earned prizes and network with other riders:

  • Date: Thursday, March 7th
  • Location: Beat Brew Hall, 13A Brattle St, Cambridge, MA 02138
  • Time: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

This event is free and open to all ages. Mark your calendar -- you don't want to miss out!

Share Your Ride Experience #BBWinterChallenge

All month long, we'll be featuring riders who get out and ride with Bluebikes. On your next ride, snap a photo of your ride experience and share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Use hashtag #BBWinterChallenge for a chance to be featured.

FAQ

1. I'm not a member, can I still participate?

  • Yes! Anyone who rides during February is eligible for a prize during the Winter Challenge. Check out our pass options that are available to you.

2. I won a prize, how do I claim it?

  • Prizes can be picked up at the Winter Challenge Meet-up Event on Thursday, March 7th.

3. Do I have to RSVP for the Winter Challenge Rider Meetup?

  • Attendees will be required to register for the Rider Meetup. If you've taken a trip during the month of February, check your email inbox for the invite and RSVP today.

4. I am unable to make it to the Rider Meetup to pick up my prize.

  • If you are unable to make it to the event to pick up you're prize, there are several opportunities to coordinate picking up your prizes:

    • On Friday, March 8th, we'll be hosting a popup event at the Government Center Bluebikes station. You can pick up your prize from one of our ambassadors between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m
    • Between March 11-15: Cambridge Community Development Center (344 Broadway, 3rd Floor) | By request | Business Hours: M 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., T/W/T 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., F 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.*
    • Between March 11-15: Boston City Hall (1 City Hall Square, Transportation Department, 7th Floor) | By request | Business Hours: M-F 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.*

*Email hello@bluebikes.com to have your prizes sent to either the Cambridge Community Development Department or the Boston Transportation Department. Be sure to include your name and account number.

5. I want to participate, but I'm unsure about biking in the winter.

  • Stay warm while biking in winter by wearing extra layers and clothing items. Our top recommendations are (1) hats and gloves, (2) warm socks that wick moisture, and (3) face protection.
  • With the shorter days, we also recommend wearing something reflective. This will help you be more visible while riding. Bike on!
