Behind-the-Scenes, with Mikayla #WBM2018

All month long during our #WBM2018 series, we'll be sharing behind-the-scene profiles of staff members that keep Bluebikes rolling.

Meet Mikayla! Mikayla joined the Bluebikes marketing team in the summer of 2018. We caught up with her to learn more about her roll on the marketing team.

How long have you been with Bluebikes? Why bike share?

I have been with Bluebikes for 3 months. I'm passionate about the outdoors and healthy living -- so bike share felt like a perfect fit. There are so many benefits of bike share I believe it is one of the best options for sustainable transportation.

Tell us more about your rolls and responsibilities.

I oversee our events and brand ambassador program, as well as our corporate accounts. My day-to-day responsibilities include: making sure that all of our members have what they need (Bluebikes key, Bike Benefits Sticker, etc.), managing our Corporate accounts, event communications and planning, as well as on-site member activation of these events.

Since you've been at Bluebikes, what are 1-2 favorite things that you've worked on?

My favorite thing I have worked on since becoming part of the Bluebikes team has been our expansion events. I have loved being able to get out into new neighborhoods and getting the community excited about this new transportation option. It is great to hear people's stories about how they use the system and getting one-on-one, face-to-face interactions with our riders.

Favorite bike route(s) and station(s)?

My new favorite ride is from Central Square at Mass Ave/Essex St. to Fresh Pond Reservation in Cambridge. I love being able to grab a bike one block from my apartment and ride along the Charles River past Mt. Auburn Cemetary and around Fresh Pond. Especially in the fall!

Fun fact? Tell us a little more about yourself!

I am originally from Colorado and moved to Cambridge about a year ago. I have really enjoyed exploring the Boston area and becoming part of Bluebikes has made the exploring that much easier and more fun!

Are you a woman that rides in Metro Boston? We want to hear more about your story! Email hello@bluebikes.com and tell us more for a chance to be featured on our blog. You can also share your stories with us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagramby tagging #WBM2018.
