Pedal through the Comm Ave Shutdown

The Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Replacement Project starts Thursday July 26th. The affected area remains open to bicycle travel, and Bluebikes is here to help.

During the Shutdown, pedestrians and bicyclists will have full access across the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge on the eastbound side throughout construction. While the construction is underway - we’re offering discounted $1 Single Fare Trips, which include 30 minutes of ride time!

In anticipation of increased bike travel in the area, we are deploying a temporary station and expanding our Valet Services in the area (see map below).


Valet Services:

We'll have valets two additional valets along Commonwealth Ave, so that you have a guaranteed place to leave your bike:

  • Commonwealth Ave and Babcock, 7:30 - 10:30 am
  • Silber Way, 3:30 - 6:30 pm
  • Longwood Ave at Binney Street, 8:30 - 10:30 am

During these hours, one of our ambasssadors will be there to answer any of your questions and also hand out some awesome swag. Make sure to stop by and say hi!

Not a Bluebikes member? No problem! During the period of construction, Single Fare Trips will be discounted to $1. Download the Bluebikes app or grab a pass from any kiosk and take advantage of this limited-time offer!

Temporary Station:

In anticipation of higher bike travel during the Comm Ave Shutdown, we've deployed a temporary station at Silber Way/Commonwealth Avenue - so that you have an addition 19 docks to leave your bike.
