Hubway Rides with Pride!

Join Hubway and Celebrate Boston's Pride Parade on Saturday, June 10th. We are excited to announce that we will be riding in the parade this year and unveiling a new set of "Stronger Together" to honor the legacy of Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and all people who have helped lead the way to a more inclusive, equitable, respectful, and aware society.

Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera were friends, LGBTQIA+ liberation activists, and veterans of the Stonewall riots. Their lives and actions are credited with launching the birth of the Pride movement in the United States. To help you learn more about Marsha P. Johnson's life, we've included the documentary "Pay It No Mind" below.

On a local level, Boston has a long history of leading the way on creating inclusive places for LGBTQIA+ people. Did you know that Boston City Hall was the first municipal building in the country to fly the Pride flag? This year's Parade is expected to be Boston's largest turnout ever with over 35,000 marchers and 700,000 people in attendance. We ride to honor the legacies of Marsha and Sylvia, to honor the many people who continue their work, and to acknowledge the crucial and essential need to continue this movement in Greater Boston and beyond.

The parade kicks off at noon in Copley Square and ends with the Pride Festival at City Hall Plaza. For more information on the parade and march route, visit bostonpride.org/parade, or click here to learn more about Boston Pride's mission. Also be sure to check out the Boston Pride Guide for event info and to read articles and stories from people in the movement.

Keep a look out for us on the day of the event! Our team will be unveiling a set of custom, "Stronger Together" bikes (see fender images below) that will be available to ride throughout the rest of June.
