Navigating the GLX Project With Bluebikes

The GLX Project is underway. Learn more about the project and the supporting Bluebikes stations located around Somerville.

Beginning in March 2019, the Green Line Extension Project kicked off in Somerville. This project will extend the Green Line across two branches, adding seven stations to the Medford Branch and the Union Square Branch.

In addition, a 1.9-mile long multi-modal community path will be constructed adjacent to the GLX tracks. This path will connect with the Cambridge Grand Junction Multi-use Path and Somerville’s existing Community Path.

The GLX Project is expected to significantly reduce vehicle traffic and will add crucial transportation options for commuters and residents across Somerville and Medford. With various road closures to support the construction of this project, Bluebikes is here to help you navigate any and all temporary detours.
