The MFA first opened in 1876 and is currently the 4th largest museum in the U.S., home to nearly 500,000 works of art.
This museum welcomes over 1 million visitors every year and hosts one of the most comprehensive collections of art in the world – including Impressionist paintings, contemporary works, the largest collection of Japanese art outside of Japan, and more than 85,000 works of ancient art from Egypt, Greece, the Near East and beyond, dating all the way back to 6500 BC.
The MFA also hosts great educational programs, studio art classes, and international film festivals.
