Located on the Freedom Trail in Boston's historic downtown, Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market are now places to shop and dine.
Faneuil Hall has served as a public marketplace and meeting hall since the early 1700s, before the United States existed. A popular spot on the Freedom Trail, the Hall is referred to as “the Cradle of Liberty” where individuals and groups advocated for the country’s independence from Great Britain. It's also the site where the Boston Tea Party began their rebellion rebellion against British Taxation.
Today, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market are the sites of shopping and dining. Many local artisans set up carts with unique goods, and you can choose to try different foods from the indoor food court or grab a table at one of the restaurants with outdoor seating.
Other sites of interest nearby include the New England Holocaust Memorial, erected in 1995, and the new Boston Public Market, an indoor, year-round marketplace for locally sourced groceries and agricultural products.
